Elm Class Drama
Fri 07 Feb 2020Elm class have been looking at our new book, The Firework Maker's Daughter, this week making predictions from the front cover and blurb, summarising the first chapter and wondering what happens next.
We created a short drama presentation about the end of chapter one and acted out what we think is going to happen.

Amelia, our Award-winning Artist!
Fri 07 Feb 2020Congratulations to Amelia in Cedar who entered an Art competition open to all of the children in Lydiate and Maghull. Out of all of the children from all of those schools, she won first prize for her painting! The theme was 'Extreme Weather' and Amelia chose to depict the recent fires in Australia. Her art work was superb and everyone at Lydiate Primary is extremely proud of her. Very well done! -
Birch Class Awards
Fri 07 Feb 2020Another brilliant week for all the children in Birch. But our awards go to Megan, Blake and Louis. It was a very close call but these children just scraped it. -

Sycamore's Proud!
Fri 07 Feb 2020We are very proud of Zac who has just completed his 5th pantomime show and Freya who not only won an Oscar for her drama, but also two medals at Jujitsu!!! A very talented class we have! :) -
Music and Maths in Maple
Thu 06 Feb 2020Maple class had a brilliant Music lesson this week with Mrs Bond when every child got to play a musical instrument of their choice whilst singing the song 'I wanna play in a band.'
In Maths this week, all the children enjoyed using the Base 10 equipment to investigate division and today they became 'Number Investigators' exploring odd and even numbers. They hadn't realised that odd and even numbers were so interesting!

Rowan Class making their own 3D Shapes!
Thu 06 Feb 2020Rowan class have been learning all about shapes. So we decided to have a go at making some 3D ourselves using straws and blue tac. Here are some of the fantastic creations! -
Holly Nursery love dancing with our flipper flappers! It's a great way to develop our muscles in our shoulders, arms and wrists to get us ready for writing.

Acorn go on a shape hunt
Wed 05 Feb 2020Today Acorn class went into the outdoor environment to hunt for familiar shapes. We looked all around the garden area for circles, squares, rectangles and triangles. The children found many different shapes all around garden. I wonder what shapes you can see in the environment....
