Computer Club working on their projects!

Sycamore have been archaeologists and now it is time to become settlers. They have debated the best locations to pick and now the fun begins as they plan their own Anglo Saxon villages.

Rowan class creating their own dragons!
Thu 30 Jan 2020In Rowan class we have been reading the book 'Tell me a Dragon'. Mother Dragon visited us last week and left four eggs in our class, three have hatched but one is still unhatched. Each table made a dragon to try and make Mother Dragon come back to help hatch the last egg. We used some super adjectives to describe our dragons too! -

Elm Class have an Art Attack
Tue 28 Jan 2020Linking to our main topic of China, today Elm class investigated Chinese ceramics, specifically from the Ming dynasty. We discussed the main subjects of the vases and plates before having a go ourselves in our sketch books. Later we honed our drawing skills by putting our designs onto a vase template in the classic blue colour, using pressure and different drawing techniques to make as many different shades of blue we could using only one pencil.
I'm sure you'll agree that our final products are worth the millions that a real vase would go for at Christie's.

Elm Have the Measure of Mass
Sun 26 Jan 2020Elm class took part in a maths investigation this week. Building on our work with scales, mass and measure we used digital scales to measure the mass of every day classroom objects. We then used our result to estimate the mass of the next object in the list and will later use column subtraction to see how close our estimates were.
