• Wally Cain Festival

  The Dance Club performed, with the help of Miss Povey, at the Wally Cain Contemporary Dance Festival at Southport Theatre. Our group of year 3 and 4 children were on stage on Friday 21st June. The theme of the festival this year was 'Inspired by Colour' so we chose to create our routine around songs by P!nk. Our performance was entitled 'A Million Dreams of P!nk' and our costumes were definitely very pink!

   

  The children are very proud of their performance (as they should be!) and would like to thank all their families and the staff that came to see them perform and helped us on the long road of rehearsals that it took to make this performance shine. We are excited at the prospect of doing this again next year and are already dreaming up ideas to make next year bigger and better.

• A cracking time in the Early Years!

  It's been an exciting time in the Early Years as we waited patiently for the eggs to hatch.  The chicks are now soft and fluffy and ready to be held.

  

• Lydiate World War One Website Update

  As part of our schools commemoration of the End of the First World War, Lydiate Primary, St Thomas's and St Gregory's primary schools, along with the Heritage Lottery fund have produced a short film about the project and can be accessed on the following website;

• Rainbow Award Winners

  Congratulations to all our Rainbow Award winners for the Spring term! These children have gone above and beyond with their attitude and their kindness.

  

• Spy Morning - Obstacle Course

  Team work, communication and problem solving... Did we complete the obstacle course??? Not yet. Perhaps another chance tomorrow. It was lots of fun and yet so frustrating at times!

  

• Easter Egg Painting

  Well done to Mrs Parry and the children who took part in the Easter Egg painting club. Look at the beautiful eggs that they painted in the traditional Slovakian style passed on by Mrs Parry. 

  

• Healthy Eating Week

  Yesterday, we all took part in an assembly which celebrated the success of our Healthy Eating initiatives. Throughout last week, Nicola, Jay and our fabulous Year 6 Healthy Eating ambassadors monitored the contents of our lunches and made suggestions as to how they could become healthier. Stickers were given to children who made healthy choices and names were drawn from a hat to win some lovely prizes. Congratulations to our lucky winners and long may our healthy lunchtime choices continue!
