Our Escape from Pompeii - Year 3 and 4
The year 3/4 corridor took part in an all-day drama activity last week, as the finale of our activities on the book 'Escape from Pompeii.' Working in teams, and using dramatic freeze-frames, fact finding and knowledge of the available technology, we created our own logistics company and created a plan to evacuate the citizens of Pompeii before Mount Versuvius erupted.
We presented our proposals to our class, who voted for their favourite, before presenting the class plan to an esteemed panel of Mrs Allen and Mrs Forshaw who had the unenviable task of picking an overall winner.
All of the staff were blown away by the teamwork professional attitude the children took to produce superb, detailed plans for the evacuation. A huge thanks to Miss Povey who masterminded the Mantle of the Expert experience.
