Lydiate Primary and Nursery School

Inspire. Achieve. Prepare for life.

Mental Health Support

We support children's mental health in a variety of ways here at Lydiate Primary. Our children can speak to supportive and caring adults in our dedicated Blossom Room, or use our beautiful Blossom Corner to take time to reflect.

We are also working closely with the Mental Health Support Team who are based at Alder Hey. Jess, who is part of this team, is able to support children and parents using evidence-based interventions for worry management, mild anxiety and behaviour that challenges.

The Mental Health Support Team (MHST) recently hosted two parent/carer workshops, 'Parenting the Anxious Child' and 'Managing Behaviour that Challenges.' The powerpoints for each workshop are attached below.

Sefton Mental Health Team offer lots of parental advice. The calendar of events for family hubs until Christmas 2025 is also attached below.

If you would like to get in touch about your child's mental health, or discuss extra support for your child, please email the school office and ask for a return telephone call from Mrs Laycock or Mrs Londesborough.
