The nearest drop-off point is The Meadows Library, so while you are there doing the Summer Reading Challenge, why not re-cycle your children's uniforms and help out others in need?

Year 5/6 Victorian's Day
Thu 11 Jul 2019Sycamore, Birch and Oak have been learning about the Victorian period of history. Today, all classes were given the chance to come in dressed as a Victorian. Some of the outfits were brilliant. Teachers adopted the role of a strict Victorian educator - some children seemed surprised with the strictness of their teachers. Sanctions such as the Dunce's Hat and holding dictionaries were administered - all in good in fun. The children, also, had to the chance to bake some Victorian oat biscuits - they went down a treat. Finally, we were very lucky to show our wonderful parents the work we had been doing that day. -
Year 1 and 2 Canal Visit
Thu 11 Jul 2019Rowan, Cedar and Maple walked to the Leeds/Liverpool canal today to explore animals in their habitats, how the canal was built and do some observational drawings of the fabulous narrowboats that we saw. Sadly, we could not avoid some rain showers but it didn't stop us having a brilliant time! -

Head for the Day
Wed 10 Jul 2019The current senior leadership team of Mrs Forshaw, Mrs Allen and Mrs Laycock had plenty of time to relax today as Miss Isabella Campbell took over as our new headteacher! Along with her able assistants, she ran the school for the whole day! Her duties included taking a rewards assembly, organising a very important lesson highlighting the dangers of plastic waste and directing classes as they took part in a range of exciting activities. Along with own clothes and party food, the children had a ball. Very well done Isabella for organising an excellent campaign and a very enjoyable day! Mrs Forshaw, Mrs Allen and Mrs Laycock had a particularly nice time - look out for the photo showing what we got up to! -
